Biography

From Ruins are a modern metal band from Northern Ireland. Formed in the spring of 2023, the County Antrim-based outfit is determined to plant their flag on the musical map, carving out a reputation for a potent mix of brutal and soaring vocals, gripping melodies, and hard-hitting riffs.

Their debut single, ‘Running Away,’ the electrifying follow-up, ‘Hate Me,’ and their powerful debut EP, ‘Inner Demons,’ have resonated deeply with metal aficionados in Ireland, the U.K., and beyond, earning the band spots on Irish metal critics’ “EP of the Year” and “Newcomer of the Year” lists.

Not ones to rest on their laurels, From Ruins continued their sonic assault with the 2024 release of their single, ‘Until We’re Gone,’ leading up to the highly anticipated EP, Poison for Your Soul, which was unleashed to glowing reviews. Among the standout tracks, ‘The Cure’ was played on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Rock show, hosted by Alyx Holcombe, further cementing the band’s rising status in the underground Irish metal scene.

Armed with raw energy and critical momentum From Ruins took their explosive sound live in 2025, kicking off proceedings in support of local standouts Nihilanth before storming Northern Ireland’s Bloodstock Open Air Metal 2 the Masses competition and reaching the finals – a notable feat with only three live shows under their belts, prompting Rock ‘N’ Load Magazine to hail them as “one of Northern Ireland’s hottest properties on the metal scene right now.”

Poison for Your Soul E.P.

You would be forgiven for thinking From Ruins have been around for donkey’s years due to their sound and unbelievable tightness when in fact they only formed back in 2023, which makes this offering all the more amazing.

10/10

Rock 'N' Load Magazine

The way the clean and heavy side of the vocals play off each other, backed up by roaring riffs and pounding drum beats, is exceptionally enjoyable.

Inner Demons E.P.

It’s the kind of thing that will open pits on any dancefloor. Big gigs, small gigs, festivals, weddings… it doesn’t matter. Chaos will ensue.

The Moshville Times

Complex and commanding, energetic and erratic, infectious and intense…

Games, Brrrraaains & a Head-Banging Life

…so full of angst and furious intent it’s surprising the band managed to make it to the end in one piece!

Live Shows

From Ruins is one of Northern Ireland’s hottest properties on the metal scene right now... fusing a modern multi-layered sound with ambient backing tracks, they have a gargantuan sound and deliver so well every time they play.

Rock 'N' Load Magazine

As always From Ruins’ attention to detail when playing live sets them apart from a lot of bands in the competition, the clarity of their instruments cuts through like a knife, and it’s like you’re taking in a recording, they’re that tight. The thunderous bass and drums against the slicing guitar work and the dystopian feel of Niall’s vocals just work.
